Today August 14 was Aiden's Orientation to school. We received these pictures from his foster mother, Kim. Below is her comments:

The school orientation was this morning and went really well.  I spoke to Aiden before going as I could see he was getting nervous.  When he is nervous he can get a little over excited.  I spoke to him about needing to listen etc and Teresa also joined us and he did a great job.  He is extremely curious about everything around him and his classroom.  His teacher's name is Alicia Toro.  Alicia is American and has been at BCIS for 3 years, she just had her first baby 3 months ago.  Alicia is a fantastic teacher who is extremely organised and plans very exciting lessons.  She has a early childhood background and has written some children's storybooks.  Miss Lily is Chinese and is the teacher assistant in the classroom.  She is not there 100% of the time but will be a main person for Aiden to go to when he has troubles with anything.  I have worked alot with Lily and you could not find a more caring and loving person.  Both Alicia and Lily came out one weekend to Lang Fang when I organised a trip for the BCIS teachers, and in fact both of them were very motivated to continue their involvement with assisting Lang Fang, again never did we dream they would take such a huge role in the life of Aiden.  The final main teacher involved with Aiden will be Glen Fitzpatrick.  Glen is the ESOL teacher for Grade 2 and he comes from Australia.  Glen is the literacy co-ordinator at BCIS as well and he is a extremely good at his job, again I have worked with him in the past and have seen the progress kids under his care have made.  Aiden's classroom is right next door to Michael's which he was very excited about!  We got his lunch card today as well.  On Monday he will get his school bag and PE uniforms.  The school day starts at 8.20am and finishes at 3.20pm, except for Wednesday when they finish at 2.30pm.  Tuesday and Thursday will be days that they can stay for extra curricular activities such as chess, basketball, athletics, dance, swimming and heaps more options.  We usually leave home about 7.50am as we are only about 20 minutes from school.
