Week 32: Aiden

This week Aiden was introduced to his Lifestory book we created for him. It helped him put together a story about his life. In doing this, it also brought out alot of questions about his past and future.

The highlight for me was when he saw the first baby photo taken of him.....he had never seen this before.  In fact he still says it is not him it is Michael as it looks like he has blonde hair in the photo as it is so old and out of focus!  Just like Michael and Lauren the joy he got by looking at pictures of himself was overwhelming.  So we progressed through the book on a high moving on from here the highest high was to come YOU! He LOVED the photos of the both of you! He thinks you are very beautiful Leigh and also thought the photo of the masquerade party was hilarious! He rolled around laughing for ages. He was excited to see his grandparents and also his cousins.  BUT then he saw your wonderful home and the high got higher! He loved it all and examined it in fine detail.  He has declared and continues to declare that Baba (Ray) must play golf on the green grass in the backyard...I have tried to tell him maybe not but he has firmly got this stuck in his mind.  And when I thought the excitement had reached its climax we see Justin.  He LOVES Justin.  He thinks he is huge but is always saying he loves him which is great.  So in a summary the book was worth every cent and more......what a precious thing for him to have.

 You know kids are very curious so here were the questions that followed Aiden sharing with his class his lifestory...........Gotta love his answers!!!

Q :- Why do you have American parents and not Chinese parents?

A:-  They look a little Chinese and American!

Q:- Do you talk to your parents?

A:- Yes on the computer.

Q:- How do you talk to them you can’t speak English?

A:- I speak English!

Q:- Why are your parents in America?

A:- They are coming soon to get me.  On the 1st December and they will come with a big white car to take me to America. (No one has told Aiden a specific date we will come, what i find amazing is that I am specifically praying to head to China between Nov 26-Dec 5th...which technically could fall in this timeframe....does Aiden know something we dont??? lol)

Q:- Why are your parents not here now?

A:- (Aiden asked me to explain as he had asked me the same question the night before) I said..... The Chinese want to make very sure that Aiden’s Mum and Dad in America are the best possible parents.  They want to make sure they are kind and caring.  Therefore, it takes a long time, but when they say it is OK his parents will be as soon as they can.

Q:- But why are your parents American?

A:- Because I was born in America and then brought to China and now I am returning back to America

My number one favourite.....and it is not the question or answer but the manner in which Aiden replied so quickly, so confidently, so sure of himself

Q:- Are these your real parents?

A:- YES!

This week, he opened his very first Birthday presents with us present on SKYPE (yes there is a video, will try to load). Praying for word about China receiving or matching our files this week. Again I would love to get him the week after Thanksgiving so the sooner they do this, the sooner that will become a reality.
